the yogi master

unwittingly my partner-for-yoga-class and i got ourselves into a mandarin-speaking yoga class. To our astonishment, we heard the instructions and moves in mandarin upon reaching the basement of the CC (where lessons are taught). Too late to back out since we paid the $55. I've an interesting yoga teacher who inter-switches between the use of mandarin and english; he mentions terms like "hold"/"ting2"; "hu1"/"exhale" and "xi1"/"inhale" almost at the same time. by the time i figure out which term comes first, we've gone on to the next steps...

classes r becoming > interesting by the week. so far the stunts are manageable until last mon's new step -- spinal rock. Can't seem to move myself back to the lotus sitting position after rolling backwards. feels real awkward with my limbs falling all over the place, struggling to get back into position in time. It's becoming embarrassing as the teacher himself comments that he's seen improvements in the class...wonder if he noticed how i did it .. ;p
